About This Year's Theme

logomark&type_03.png

Every year, The Annual Gem Affair gives us a chance to slow down and look at coloured gemstones more closely. Not only as jewellery, but as little worlds of colour, form, and story.

As the organiser of this event, I look forward to sharing this year’s theme, Colours & Cuts, along with new gemstones discovered during our Tucson trip.

I hope this event invites you to see how colour and cut can give each gemstone its own presence, personality, and quiet sense of wonder.

New Expressions in Colour

Discover newly arrived jewellery pieces created around the beauty of coloured gemstones — from rare Paraiba Tourmaline to distinctive cuts and silhouettes that reveal each stone’s individual charm. Each piece is selected to show how colour comes alive when paired with thoughtful design and Japanese craftsmanship.

The Colours After Bloom

Inspired by hazakura — the moment fresh green leaves emerge among fading cherry blossoms — this ring captures the gentle transition between pink and green through a natural bi-colour tourmaline, where two colours meet softly within a single stone.

A Paraiba in Full Light

Centered by an extraordinary 12-carat cabochon Paraiba Tourmaline, this ring highlights the vivid glow and remarkable presence that make Paraiba so sought after. Framed by oval-cut yellow diamonds and white diamonds, the design radiates with layers of light and colour.

Lines of Light

Designed around gemstones cut by acclaimed lapidary artist John Dyer, these rings extend the character of each stone into the band through flowing metalwork and diamond details, creating a modern and expressive design.

You may book an appointment in advance for a more personalised viewing experience during The Annual Gem Affair 2026. Let us know if there are any specific jewellery pieces or gemstones you would like to explore during your visit.

New Gemstones from Tucson

Every year, Tucson brings together gem dealers, miners, and collectors from around the world. For this year’s Annual Gem Affair, we will be presenting a selection of newly sourced loose gemstones from Tucson — chosen for their colour, character, and potential to become truly personal jewellery pieces.

The Art of the Cut

Like jewellery making, gemstone cutting is a form of art — one deeply appreciated at Fujimori Kajita. Treasured for their individuality, designer cuts reveal a distinct creative character through every facet and silhouette.

Colour in Transition

Naturally formed with two or more colours within a single stone, bi-colour and tri-colour tourmalines continue to capture attention in 2026. Their beauty lies in the gentle transition between shades, making each stone quietly one of a kind.

Where Blue Meets Green

Loved for their unique balance of blue and green, teal sapphires have become increasingly popular at this year’s Tucson gem show. Long appreciated at Fujimori Kajita, their quiet tones remind us of nature — deep waters, forest shadows, and colours found between seasons.

A wider selection of loose gemstones from Tucson will be available during the event. Advance enquiries are welcome for specific gemstones, colours, or cuts.
