Kino—a name that means "yesterday" in Japanese—captures the essence of a fleeting moment, a memory just out of reach. This jewelry collection draws inspiration from a short story in Haruki Murakami's novel, Men Without Women.
In this story, the cat's eye moonstone represents the icy moon, half-sunken in an endless, starless ocean. The moon, with its cold, ethereal glow, casts a gentle light on the still waters, revealing subtle gradients of white and blue. This otherworldly scene is mirrored in the design, where the moonstone is accented by a cluster of white and blue sapphires, alongside aquamarine stones.
The moonstone is carefully angled so that its cat's eye effect shines horizontally, mimicking the gentle, rhythmic waves of the ocean, and capturing the poignant sentiment of the story.
