What Is Tsavorite Garnet? A Rare Green Gemstone in Our New Earrings

A Gemstone of Brilliant Green

Tsavorite Garnet is one of the rarest and most vibrant green gemstones. Belonging to the garnet family, its vivid colour comes from trace amounts of vanadium and chromium in the crystal. First discovered in the 1960s in East Africa and named after Tsavo National Park in Kenya, it quickly gained recognition for its lively hue and brilliance.

Why Tsavorite Garnet Is Special

Unlike other green gems, Tsavorite combines beauty with durability, making it well-suited for everyday wear. It is harder and more stable than emerald, with fewer inclusions, and its intense green glow is rarer than many coloured stones on the market. Its limited sources — found only in Kenya and Tanzania — make it highly sought after by collectors and jewellery lovers alike.

Tsavorite in Our New Designs

To celebrate this extraordinary stone, we are introducing two new earrings that capture the spirit of the stars while showcasing Tsavorite’s radiant green:

  • Aster Earrings: Clusters of tsavorite garnet, blue sapphires, and diamonds arranged like a starry bloom, named Aster after the flower whose name also means “star.”

  • Celeste Earrings: A pair of tsavorite garnets surrounded by diamond halos forming a subtle star motif, echoing the elegance of celestial light.

A Jewel That Shines Beyond Compare

At Fujimori Kajita, we celebrate the beauty of rare stones, bringing them to life through thoughtful design and Japanese craftsmanship. Tsavorite Garnet, with its vivid green brilliance and rarity, perfectly embodies this spirit.

Our new Celeste and Aster Earrings highlight this extraordinary gem in celestial-inspired forms — one luminous and refined, the other radiant with clusters of colour. Each pair is a reminder that jewellery can be both timeless and extraordinary, carrying the light of rare gemstones into everyday elegance.
