Carved Cabochon

These cabochon were carved by a German cutter from a small town named Idar-Oberstein in Germany where the world's gem-cutting center is located. Many unique cutting and carving of stones comes from this region.

Strong and distinct chatoyancy effect is what we look for in cat's eye stones. Needle-like inclusions lies parallel to one another in the stone, creating a narrow band concentrated across the centre of the stone. Here, the colour of blue tourmaline - Indicolite is especially rare.

This piece of colour-change garnet has a very obvious change of colour from dark bluish green to reddish purple under different light source. When made into a ring, one can enjoy the view of colour changing effect on their fingers easily.

This Brazilian Fire Opal is rare with excellent saturation which is hard to find among other fire opals. Normally cabochon cut, here, they are cut with facets to showcase their strong colours.

Hazakura (葉桜) is the short moment of blooming sakura flowers, accompanied by their greeny leaves at the same time. This pair our tourmaline reminded us of this beautiful scene in Spring.

This Lagoon Tourmaline from Mozambique has a strong reflection with a secondary blue hue, cut by a very experienced German cutter. Its unique colour resembles the calm and quiet water of a lagoon.
